Located in Canada’s capital city of Ottawa and established in 1985, OZ Optics Limited is a leading worldwide supplier of fiber optic products for existing and next-generation optical networks.
OZ Optics manufactures its products in three locations, Ottawa (Canada), Izmir (Turkey), and Jiaxing (China). Our seven different product groups are marketed and sold globally to over 10,000 customers in over 60 countries, through our well-established and extensive network of sales representatives and distributors, as well as through direct customer engagement.
We are seeking a “Production Scheduler” for our company located in İzmir that manufactures fiber optic components with the below responsibilities. The scheduler is expected to spend more than 60% of his/her time on shop floor in order to complete below tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree from related fields,
- At least 5 years of experience in production planning especially in cabling/ electronics factories,
- Dynamic, strong communication and organization skills,
- Excellent analytical skills with a good planning approach,
- Able to travel abroad for training/business,
- No military obligation for male candidates,
- Good command of English (at least intermediate level – verbal, written, listening and presentation skills)

Position Summary:
Execution of the Production Scheduler duties and all material related activities pertaining to the control of all shop floor work orders -from inception to completion- under minimal supervision. To plan, schedule, issue production work, monitor and control material and activities in order to meet production targets and priorities. Review capacity requirements with Work Center Leader and balance capacity and load as required. Support, implement, and maintain all strategic materials management programs in support of manufacturing.
- The Production Scheduler will form a detailed production schedule. Analyze and approve changes to the Production schedule through ERP, and in cooperation with Customer Service, Purchasing, Production, and Designers.
- Review the production schedule with production (Production Control, Purchasing and Production Planning Manager) to ensure the schedule is on track. Perform Capacity planning reviews and analysis. Assist in providing solutions to capacity imbalances or bottlenecks.
- Work Order Management: Ensure priorities are clearly defined to all operations within manufacturing so that shipment plans are fulfilled in an efficient and timely manner
- Manage and monitor the PS based on changing product requirements from interface with customer order management.
- Investigate and implement alternatives to current business practices in order to improve the production planning processes (looking forward to maximize the scheduling efficiencies, policies and strategies).
- Provide input to various groups to improve on existing processes outside Production Planning (participate in various groups formed to resolves issues).
- Provide problem solving support to various groups, i.e. Production Control-priorities, Purchasing – material problem.
- Work with designers to ensure the new product builds are on track to meet significant milestones. Attend meetings to discuss all related issues to introduce this product to the market in a timely fashion.
- Work with Designers to ensure all possible material substitution is reviewed to address material shortages, and to have input on Engineering Change orders (ECO).
- Maintain constant communication between production and Customer Order Management to ensure that priorities are achieved.
- Evaluate, develop and write new processes and procedures as well as developing new tools that will aid in the production process.
- Analyze finished goods and semi-finished inventory to minimize excess inventory or obsolescence.

Job description:
- Knowledge and/or experience of process control
- ISO 9001 QMS standard knowledge and preferably internal auditor certificate
- To issue Non-conformance Report, to perform root cause analysis, to take corrective/preventive action and to follow for effectiveness verification
- Creation, implementation and updating of the quality control documentation
- Process and product audits according to the prepared audit plans in order to increase the effectiveness and continuous development of the quality management system.
- Daily production line controls and layered process audits in the production processes.
- Coordinating final outgoing quality audits and ensure that all documentation is properly completed.
- Ensuring safety procedures are followed
- To evaluate the quality control reports issued in daily, weekly and monthly periods.
- To initiate the necessary corrective actions for the most defective products and error types according to the quality reports.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary:
Responsible for handling incoming work order flow, shipment scheduling, and material planning of fiber optic products. This includes work orders management, related paperwork that pertains to the construction of a product, opening Purchase Orders for Inbound materials, and ensuring/maintaining raw materials stock accuracy.
Typical Duties:
- Raw Materials Stock Maintenance (Daily Update of incoming/issued materials in ERP System)
- Printing all Work Orders and issuing them to production
- Short-Term Shipment Planning of the factory under supervision as per Work Orders coming from Canada
- Inbound and Outbound Purchase Order Management
- Reviewing the shipment schedule with production to ensure the schedule is on track
- Work different hours / shifts if required
- Able to work overtime when requested
- Ad-Hoc duties as required
